Anionic polyacrylamide (APAM) emulsion is a water-in-oil (W/O) or inverse emulsion polymer with anionic charge (typically via carboxylate groups), designed specifically for the binary retention and drainage (R & D) system in the pulp and paper industry. It acts as a high-efficiency polymeric coagulant/flocculant to improve fiber/filler retention, accelerate water drainage, and enhance paper machine runnability.

Application Process & Dosing Guidelines
  • Emulsion Dilution: Dilute the APAM emulsion with clean water (1:100-1:500 dilution ratio) under low-shear mixing to avoid polymer chain scission.
  • System Setup: Add the cationic primary coagulant first at the thick stock inlet, followed by the APAM emulsion at the thin stock outlet (before the headbox).
  • Dosing Rate: Typically 0.05-0.3 kg/t of dry pulp (adjust based on pulp type, filler content, and white water quality).
